die talmühle

guest house in Gimmeldingen

about us

Schmid Family-181.jpg

The Talmühle (valley mill), as she stands today, is a project of love, continually growing from the dreams of her owners, Ciera and Johannes.

Built almost 300 years ago, the Talmühle has survived many different eras and has been used for many purposes. Once a flour mill, a guest house, a retreat location, a luxurious café, a restaurant, onetime empty and abandoned for years. It has stood through dark times and wars, was partially destroyed, expanded, renewed.

Today we are always working toward the goal of making the mill a place of peace, rest, and beauty, with beautiful gardens and thoughtfully furnished rooms. It is our hope that your stay with us will be one you will want to repeat!

our rooms

We currently offer two large, bright rooms, each with a double bed and a spacious en suite bathroom, decorated in a french country style. Child cots and baby beds are available upon request.

We provide an organic breakfast of various sweet and savory spreads, cured meats and cheeses, elegantly served with freshly baked breads and pastries. Vegan and gluten free options are available upon request.

We are constantly in the process of developing our garden. Feel free to enjoy birdsong while sitting outside in our front garden or breakfasting outside.

free wifi

Our rooms do not have televisions, which can distract from a relaxing atmosphere, however, we have free wifi for all your streaming needs

We tidy the rooms daily. For the sake of the environment, we do not change bedclothes or towels during the duration of your stay, unless specifically requested.
